Who is Miguel Mendoza?

Miguel Regala Mendoza III (born August 21, 1989) is a Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Host and Music Producer. He joined the singing contest, Philippine Idol on ABC5 (now TV5) and was able to place 3rd runner-up. After a few years he joined ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 and placed 2nd runner-up. In 2009, he released his first solo album “Somebody”.

He wrote songs for himself, which was part of his 1st Album, “Somebody”, which had his original tracks like, “Hanggang Tingin”, “Sa Piling Ko”, and “Ligaw Na Damdamin” which were frequently played in Pinoy Big Brother Double-up. He also wrote songs for other artists as well. One stand-out composition would be “Here I Am” which was a collaboration with the Maestro Ryan Cayabyab. This happened when he was eliminated on the show “Philippine Idol”. Mr. C (Ryan Cayabyab) said on national television “If you don’t make it to the next round, let’s sit down and let’s write a song for you.”

From Philippine Idol he joined Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 wherein he placed 2nd runner-up. The show gave him a boost which brought several guestings on ABS-CBN shows. This opportunity also allowed him to do national and international shows which would give him bigger grounds to share his music.

Miguel is a student at De La Salle College of St. Benilde, taking up a Music Production course. If his schedule in school allows, he takes the opportunity to do corporate shows and various guestings but as of now he is taking a break from Showbiz to finish his studies and to be able to hone his artistry and musicality before coming back to hit the limelight once again. Right now, Miguel’s focus would be learning and developing his craft and being able to use it to express his heart through Music.
